How many of you spend your Friday nights watching Jo Frost, the Supernanny, on ABC? I know I spent many a night watching the show before I even had my twins to find out what not to do. Let’s face it, no matter how hard you try certain things happen, and with more than one child, it’s hard to cope sometimes. Jo’s book is a great resource to help us do just that. Although it only touches on multiples for one page, there are still a ton of topics that relate to all of us.

Jo covers mealtimes, bedtimes, how to handle the new family dynamic, and the unexpected. What I like about this book is that topics are easy to find and worded in laymans terms. Many of the techniques she uses on the show (think naughty step) are covered in detail in the book. I personally haven’t been able to really use a lot of the techniques yet (my babies are only 11 months) but one question that really stuck out to me deals with the husband-wife dymanic. The question that is brought up (and I really wish I could just copy and paste it on here, but that whole copyright thing just makes it messy!) how to deal with the fact that you are tired from being home with the kids all day and your husband doesn’t understand how you can’t, for lack of a better word, fawn all over him. Jo gives a technique to use called the Same Page Technique and it seems pretty practical. I think this book is indispensable for any new parent. Jo also has a website complete with forums and a support group for any other concerns that you may have that weren’t in the book.
