Nicole O’Dell is my go-to Mama when it comes to tough questions regarding teens. I’ve passed her books on to my niece and friend’s daughter, who both love the books. Nicole’s newest series is called Hot Buttons and is designed for parents to help field some tough questions that may come from their teens.
The first two books in the series came out this summer and the next two are releasing this month. I was able to check out the first two books, Internet Edition and Dating Edition.
Hot Buttons Dating Edition offers practical real-life situations that parents can read and discuss with their preteens. Topics include: physical activity, missionary dating, and violence/abuse in dating relationships.
Hot Buttons Internet Edition helps parents prepare their teens for online challenges they may face. Topics discussed include: internet activity, file sharing, social networking, and internet predators.
I think every parent, no matter how tech savvy they are, should read the Internet Edition. There are so many things on the internet right now (as we all know) and you have to be able to field questions and different scenarios that you or your teens may find yourselves in.
The Dating Edition is also an asset, especially when it comes to the signs to look for in abusive relationship (physical and verbal).
If you have teens these books are definitely worth a peek. Check out Nicole’s site for more info and where you can purchase the books.
