Well, let me start by saying Happy Mother’s Day everyone! This is my second official Mother’s Day. I wish I had a cute story about my first, but I really don’t remember it! My twins were born on Cinco de Mayo (great birthday, especially for when they are in college) and I was released from the hospital that Thursday, so I was still in a fog from everything. My husband Scott did manage to get me cards from all three of them (well four really, I even got one from the dog!) and had flowers for me. It was also special because my Mom was still in town, and she’s actually in town again this Mother’s Day. How my Mom managed with 6 kids still amazes me, and I am glad there are holidays that recognize what a great job she did. I only hope that someday my kids will look back and think the same way, or at least be thankful that I put enough money away for them to hire a really good therapist.

So now that brings me to the question(s) of the week! What is your best Mother’s Day memory?
Here is Kati from Buncha Blue-Eyed Monkeys memory
Buncha Blue-Eyed Monkeys: Happy Mother’s Day

What tradition did you have with your Mom that you plan to share with your kids?

And finally what is the best advice you ever got from your Mom?

Have a great Mother’s Day MoM’s! I hope you have breakfast in bed, a mani-pedi and are finally able to read that magazine that has been collecting dust on your coffee table!

Hello how have, you all been? It has been a little while since I …

  1. happy, happy {happy, happy, happy, happy, etc…} mother’s day!

  2. Awwww, what a gorgeous pic!! I hope you’re enjoying your 2nd Mother’s Day!!

Hmmmm, unfortunately, I don’t have such a great relationship with my mom so there are no real happy memories to recall on and no traditions to remember. But in trying to see the positives in that, I’m trying to break that cycle with my kids. With every holiday, we’ve created fun traditions…and this Mother’s Day, I’ll wake up to them crawling all over me in bed where we’ll spend about 10 minutes just snuggling in bed and this is what we’ve done for the last 4 years since I’ve been a mom (and now the little twins are joining in the first time this year!)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day!

  3. Happy Mother’s Day!

This year is kind of tough in my family since we lost my grandma just this past week, the day before her birthday. If you wouldn’t mind, stop by my blog and sign Mr. Linky to send my mom some Mother’s Day wishes. I know we all have moms to say HMD to, but Grandma Party is having a bit of a sad day.

    Thanks so much…

    Happy Mother’s Day!

  4. Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
In 2005, I was pregnant with the girls (who were born in August). We were worrying every day about them and their situation. I was heading to work – opened my car door and found a dozen pink roses with a card, “Mommy we love you and can not wait to meet you! Thank you for doing all you do to make sure we arrive safely.”
I broke down and boohooed. Even though, I was not a mom yet technically P.J. was so sweet to do that.

Every Mother’s Day – we go to my mom’s church and then eat lunch together. We always do something with P.J.’s mom the night before or after lunch on Mother’s Day.

Best advice, my mom has ever given me – go with your gut! Moms are normally right.

Mine were also very tiny last mother’s day. My husband surprised me with a diamond bracelet (the girls’ birthstone) and a card he had made on photoshop with the babies and him covered with giant peanuts that said “We’re Nuts For You” – it was hilarious. But the best memory was that Mother’s day was the first time that the twins slept through the night. What a gift!

  6. This is my FIRST Mother's Day and so far it has been AMAZING. I was fortunate to take an extended maternity leave after I had the twins and I recently had to return to work to finish out the school year (last Friday on he 1st). It has been super hard because I miss B&B SO much. So, when I opened the card from them this morning and a typed letter was folded up, I was nervous and excited (wondering what it was going to say and knowing that I would cry). Let me just tell you that I got the BEST Mother's Day gift ever…a letter telling me that I get to be a stay at home mommy! Instead of teaching full time next year, I will just sub a few days here and there and enjoy spending time with my little miracles! I'm the happiest mommy right now (and I have God to thank for that)!!! Happy Mother's Day MoM's!!!

  7. I want to wish all the MoM’s a Happy Mother’s Day!

  8. My mom and her 7 brothers and sisters always had Sunday lunch with my Grandma on mother’s day. As time went on and grandchildren, then great-grands were born the gathering was moved to the church social hall. Before she died she made her children promise that they would still get together on Mother’s Day. It has been almost 13 years since she died and the (now even larger) family is still having sunday lunch together to honor her.

  9. Happy Mother’s Day.
